Every Song: Forever is a Place

"Forever is a Place" is the seventh song on the Robot Rock album.

Here's some possible topics for discussion:
1. Favorite Line
2. Least Favorite Line
3. Musical Quality
4. Images the Song Brings to Mind
5. Overall Rating (Using the entire body of JE music as a means of comparison . . . not just the album the song appears on.)

Lyrics:

Forever Is A Place

don’t say you have to go
don’t say that you are tired
you kissed me and i’m thrilled
this feeling gets no higher

i want you to stay with me
i want you to stay with me forever
i want you to stay with me forever is a place

today i’ll make a wish
tomorrow it might come true
we are the best of friends
i’ll always believe in you

today i’ll make a wish tomorrow it might come true we are the best of friends i’ll always believe in you

not a standout song but not short on verve, don't mind hearing it, kinda fun and different.

lol "it really sort of exemplifies the message, dunnit.. y'know.. forever, but in a succinct song with a simple melody and a la la filler verse.."

I agree. Listening to it in the context of the entire album it feels like a transitional song. A great transitional song, but something that takes us from Robot Beat to The Berry Patch.

"just to mention it" (hey ronnie! i'm picking apart everything you do! remember that time you squinted? well, i do!) lol

'forever is a place' and 'berry patch' have the same kind of chorus.. repeating a 'prime state' phrase in dizzying segments.

also see 'forever' as a precursor to the ~90's hightop pop-punk era delivery on christian songs.

Robot Rock, to me, is when Ronnie really hit his stride in songwriting. Almost every song has an infectious hook that sticks in your head. However, the chorus on this song is probably the weakest on the record. The verses are catchier lol!
Still, I like this song and love the blippity intro.
