Favorite key signature?

Postby Dr. M » Wed Sep 21, 2011 7:52 pm

And WHY?

And here's a deep one: If you were going to pick the lyrics to one of your songs to have inscribed on your tombstone, which one would you pick? If you HAD to pick?

One more: Do you think you can remember every song you ever wrote? Not like all the words, but if someone was playing the melody on a piano, you could recognize it as one of yours? Even going all the way back to your earliest songwriting days?

Ok ok just one more: Are you registered on BMI or ASCAP as just a songwriter, or are you registered as a publisher as well? I listened to a lecture on music business and he suggested since we (as music students) are self-publishing our own work, we could register as both. I ask because I believe you've also done a fair amount of self-publishing.

Thanks!

I wouldn't say that I have a favorite key signature, since I don't notate the songs I write, but I do have keys I enjoy writing and playing in more than others, such as E minor, A minor, C# Minor and G & A major. As for a song inscribed on my tombstone, I have no idea, so I'll go with "A Page of Life". I think I could remember most of my songs played on the piano, although some of the early pieces might be difficult, especially from WATMM. From the first two DHC albums, probably not. Finally, yes, fully registered for all of my songwriting. Thanks for writing......
