How do you get around the arpeggiator drift problem with the MS2000 / MS2000R.

I had a 1st generation MS2000R, and I would set the tempo to say 140bpm using the internal clock. If I sustained a note for longer than one or two measures on an arp patch, the arp timing would drift. The MS2000 group on Yahoo had a huge thread about it. Finally someone from Korg responded and stated that the problem could not be completely fixed. A firmware update tightened it up some, and the work around was to retrigger the note every measure and set the clock to external. Retriggering the note every measure imposed some limitations on what you could do with modulation.

When I run across an MS2000 guy that I haven't spoken with before, I try to see if they have a trick or two I can learn. :D

Re: Your gear

Postby squall » Thu Mar 20, 2008 3:23 pm

well, it took me almost 2 weeks after autobahn, but i am once again the owner of an sh-101 :D

i had sold all my synths except my korg poly-800ii w/moogslayer...but i just traded my digital camera for my third sh-101. it's typical grey. the guy was the original owner though. it has the mod grip. unfortunately 3 keys are dead. i'm hoping they just need the contact cleaned. after all, it's been sitting in this guys basement for 15 years. it got a little dusty. aside from that it sounds pretty nice. better than my last one :D

so that makes my current gear: roland sh-101, korg poly-800, roland tr-505, telecaster custom guitar, marshall amp, electro-harmonix big muff.

there's a juno 6 i'm thinking of picking up if i can come up with the dough.

Such language. Geez...

Kidding. Congrats on the new (next?) SH-101. I've thought about getting a Roland SH-something, like a 7 or 9. Digory told me to, so he must be right.
