I have recently added a Powercore X8, A Korg Radius Rack, and a Mackie 1202-VLZ3. I also bought a mint Roland JP8080 on Ebay.

Don't be too intimidated by my set-up. It's not like I bought this all at once, it has been accumulated over the years.

-Garage band

My gear so far is a microkorg, electric guitar (Ibanez) and my computer which I use for recording. I have been recording since 2006, but I have been a musician since I was a kid.
I also play the drums.
Hi, Im James by the way. I used to go to the old JE board back in 2001-2004.

Its not the big 80s anymore. Here's what I kept after realizing I couldn't afford enough cable to hook everything up.

In the studio:

White MacBook running ProTools thru an M-Audio 410 interface
a Moog
a Prophet
a Juno
a Jupiter
TAMA Techstar analog drums
Ampex ATR-102 for layback
Tascam 388 (for the mixer. One of my cats decided the transport looked like a litter box, and....)

Live:
white iPod
Moog Prodigy
ehx Memory Man analog delay
SM57 for vocals
Cheap EV mic for spoken parts (i cup my hands around it for funky EQ.)
Mongrel Drum kit featuring candy stripe Vista-Lites.
Simon Matching game.
Kodak Slide Projector (triggered from one channel of the iPod)

So, I guess thats still a lot, but I have a longing for simple days so sometimes I try to do a song with just one synth. My first rig was a Univox Mini-Korg K2 monosynth and a Tascam 4-track. Ahh, simplicity. Ahh, magic. I felt like Jean Jacques Perrey in 1969! ...I think.

Lets stop being gearheads now and make something with what we've got.
