Site maintenance, migration, and all things in between!

With Dwarf Mountain Alphabet on its way also heralds some other changes that I would like to make the community aware of. The current server hosting environment for the joyelectric.com domain, website, and of course the forums will be shutting down at the end of August. As some of you may know, I designed the current rendition of the website and take care of the backend maintenace for the website and the forums, and I will also be taking over the physical hosting now as well. Many thanks for the many years Parodius Networking has given us and the community in general! These changes will occur over the next month, I will try my best to avoid any major downtime during the transition. The community forums will be the last item to go live, so there may be some downtime there. I would like to migrate the forums over to a more secure codebase, and minimal design to better incorporate it with the website as a whole, in short.. do away with phpBB. If anyone has any questions regarding the move please feel free to message me, or post a response. Take care!

Another forum wipe? Or will everything be ported to the non-phpbb forum? Will we have to create new accounts?

No, nothing will be wiped if I decide to complete the migration to new software. Accounts and passwords should be converted without issue. All such things will be tested prior to going live, so not to worry.

Site was down for a few days, I figured there was more maintenance stuff going on. I'm curious about how the colors / design / layout will be for the DMA inspired design. Heck, I'm curious what the album artwork will be like for DMA!

As far as a DMA inspired design goes, I doubt that will happen. The site design was meant to simply be very minimal, and its what I came up with, and at this point I don't believe Ronnie has any plans for asking me to change it.

As for the Album Artwork, still waiting to see that myself.

The EEP site design will change however, although not entirely related.

Take care,

If you're reading this you've reached the new physical home of joyelectric.com on the web. So far the migration seems to have worked, if you do notice anything acting strangely please message me, or email support (at) digitalgothic (dot) org. Much appreciated.
