Talk about yourself.

Postby Dr. M » Wed Mar 10, 2010 11:54 am

I just realized that I'm pretty unfamiliar with a large portion of the current posting population, be it name changes or me just forgetting. So, tell us about yourself.

My name is Dr. Benedict Madrigal. I am 19, a freshman music composition student at the University of the Arts in Philly PA. I hope to someday be a famous musician and have hordes of attractive women (some of whom may or may not be underage) gathering around my tour bus. I love JE long time.

Hoorah. We are all growing together here like kudzu and a fence.

Well my personal state is the age of 19. Magical times are in my college of UofL. Mechanical Engineering is my future plan. I find calculus to be evil, people to be stupid, and food to be good.

My goal is to become a super-duper engineer that does stuff with cars... (Preferably electricalz) Be it body design, frame design, or whatever I must do.

I am also All The Virtues... My attempts at music.

My favorite musical stuff is as follows: Anything by Ronnie Martin, Nikmis, Foxglove Hunt, Fine China, 8-bit music, and all others flail outwards to the sidelines of glory.

I'm Tiara, about to turn 19 on the fourteenth of this month. I go to Kutztown University in hopes of becoming a French teacher. I'm a more recent JE fan, but I'm glad to say I've ben hypnotized by Mr. Martin's music. (better late than never!) Also, I was just a victim of the halyomorpha halys.

Well, since everyone on here is 19 apparently, maybe I should wait until May to post....

My name 'tis Rob and I live with WhiteSongBoy in Kentucky. Same Major, same school. However, I would LOVE to work with Walt Disney Imagineering in Glendale, California and am currently pursuing that dream.

I'm a little too tall, eat more than I probably should and don't read my Bible nearly enough. I currently hold the world record for the most retarded printer in the world and love the book I am reading (Watership Down).

Maybe that was a little too much?

I'm Fred, and I'm not 19. I'm a PhD student in economics at a large public university in California, and I'm getting married this summer. Joy Electric is my favorite band, and has been for many years now, although I'm willing to acknowledge that at least some of that is due to nostalgia. Here are some bands that I enjoy whose names all start with the letter T: Talking Heads, TV on the Radio, Talk Talk, Themselves, The Tough Alliance. I am part of a group creative blog that's on semi-hiatus, but has archives at http://worthnoting.org.

Here is a poem that I wrote.

Olney wrote a song called "A Flautist in Kutztown."

I'm also not 19, but I do live in Florida and am buying a house / moving at the end of this month. I would like to finish college someday, along with millions of other things that interest me (such as doing a badass engine swap into my del Sol). I'm in the process of downsizing my life, selling things that I just don't need / want and focusing more on the things I do want / need (like buying a house).

As far as we know Nikmis was the only one not telling the truth. He basically laid out his life story in the other thread anyway, at least as far as where he's lived. The only other pertinent info might be that he has a degree in history, was recently married, and might be an ESL teacher overseas soon.

I'm definately not 19. I live in Lebanon, PA (not far from Reading or Kutztown), and I am a pastor of a small church and teach at a local college. I graduated with a Ph.D. about a year and a half ago and moved to Pennsylvania, where I am from originally.

I'm married, have one three-year-old son, and I do some scholarly work on the side: freelance writing and editing, consulting and counseling, and speaking engagements.

I love all electronic music, and I"ve been a fan of JE since I heard "The Cobbler" on some compliation CD years ago when I was in college.

dr. m you ruin everything. i just wanted a fresh start ok.

anyway, it seems like everyone here is awesome. at least on average much more awesome than the rest of the internet. does joy electric attract more awesome people, or is everyone just saying the very best about themselves? seriously though everyone just sounds like great people here. it makes me want to really get back to listening to joy electric. i know i need to. i remember when joy electric was mine and mine alone. everyone else i played it for always hated it. i don't know why. the unusual vocals the synth sounds they might not have been used to. but i cherished every single little note and strange beeping sound. then i found the internet and met a bunch of other people who like joy electric and somehow i felt like joy electric was cheating on me. i tried desperately to hold on to our love but joy electric had had enough. she was moving on with her life and it did not include me. it included all of you people, all of her other lovers. and for some reason i was not ok with that. but maybe i could learn to have an open relationship with joy electric. i just get jealous really easy. and if this is what joy electric wants, then i guess it deserves it. but i guess i will always feel like i loved joy electric more than any of you people. you might say you loved joy electric but i really loved joy electric.

I'm gonna be honest: I don't really come here for my undying love of Joy Electric. I just really enjoy talking to someone else on the internet, and not having to walk of my rage afterward. It's a truly unique experience (that's hard to find anywhere else online) and I really do love you guys.

Seriously, LOVE you.
