No kidding... I almost put the top down on my convertible on the way home from work today. I think our winter weather is already done for, except when the sun sets.

I agree wholeheartedly. I love the fact that he changed up his vocal style for this, I think they fit the music perfectly. This is also a great way for him to get away from Elkland and it isn't similar to Digs other stuff. All the songs seem to me to be love songs BUT they are a lot more intelligent then Elklands lyrics were.

I also must say I totally understand not continuing as Goat Explosion.

Well, I didn't think Jon really changed his vocs, although maybe they're a little more Bernard Sumner-esque which is cool. And I will forever love Goat Explosion. But yeah, I like this direction just fine.

I think the reason why Jon's voice sounds a little different is because the production is a bit different, but it doesn't really matter because his vocals are always top notch

I don't know if you forumites missed this or not, but "Down By the Water" is such an awesome song. I'm guilty of somewhat "forgetting" about The Drums for a while until some of the MP3s found their way in my recent rotations. I really want to get out and buy that Summertime! EP now, if only because it includes this song on it.

I do hope Jacob keeps Horse Shoes alive, as I've been loving the Imperial School release. There are still more songs to be released... Always Cold... I'm So Alone Now...
